Jackson Schaefer of New Westminster was named to Canada's under17 national roster for the junior Pan American water polo championships in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
THUNDER TO FINAL
Former New Westminster Salmonbellie Athan Iannucci scored three goals and added three assists to lead the Langley Thunder to a four-game sweep of its Western Lacrosse Association first-round playoff.
The Thunder ousted the Victoria Shamrocks from the playoffs with a 13-8 win at the Langley Events Centre on Tuesday.
Ex-Salmonbellie junior Alex Turner also tallied a hat trick.
Rookie goalie Brodie MacDonald made 37 saves for the Thunder.
