The Vancouver Stealth will open the National Lacrosse League 2016 regular season on Jan. 9.
The Stealth begin their regular season against the New England Black Wolves at the Langley Events Centre. The game will mark the first visit to the LEC in the Black Wolves’ history and will feature Langley native Garrett Billings.
The season features other superstar highlights for indoor lacrosse fans. John Grant Jr. will make back-to-back visits with the Colorado Mammoth on Jan. 23 and Feb. 6. The Calgary Roughnecks, featuring Shawn Evans and Curtis Dickson, make two appearances at the LEC on Feb. 20 and April 16.
The Buffalo Bandits will make their one and only visit west on March 5, while the Toronto Rock will renew pleasantries with the Stealth in their lone visit on April 2.
Finally, the defending NLL champion Rush will make their first appearance at the LEC wearing Saskatoon green on March 19 and return for the Stealth’s final regular season home game on April 23.
Some key events will be taking place at the LEC during Stealth games this year. Both the pre-game and post-game festivities will take place in the LEC banquet hall.
The Stealth will celebrate Family Day weekend (Feb. 6 versus Colorado) when the “Kids Run the Show.” Young Stealth fans will have the opportunity to get involved, literally, in the Stealth game day production.
March 19 against Saskatchewan will be Lacrosse on the Move Night, featuring a new B.C.-themed jersey that will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefitting the Lacrosse on the Move Fund.
The “Stealth Experience” will be back on April 2 against Toronto when B.C. Lacrosse players are invited to stay after the game and participate in a special skills clinic with Stealth players on the turf. Youth players 15 years and under who wear their jerseys to the game will receive a complimentary admission.
There will be more special events announced leading up to the start of the season, as well as some great giveaways.
Season tickets are on sale now and fans can reserve their seats to take in the action in person. Fans who order now will be eligible to receive a limited edition Rhys Duch bobblehead, courtesy of Global TV (available while supplies last).
