The Royal City youth soccer club NW Barcelona advanced to the semifinals in the u-15 girls' Coastal A cup.
Barca downed Vancouver 3-0 at Queen's Park East on Sunday.
Tia Lore scored all three goals for New Westminster. Lore also had a fourth goal called back on a hand ball.
Ellen Williams, Alessia Mastromonaco, Miki Knowler and Sarah Ng also played well in the win.
New West must travel to Victoria this weekend to face Bays United in the semifinal on Sunday.
In Coastal B Cup playdowns, Royal City earned a final-four showing in the u-14 girls' division.
The Royal City Salsa recorded its second straight shutout in the playdowns following a 3-0 victory over the Vancouver Fury at Point Grey Turf on Sunday.
Emily Butts had a pair of goals, while Natalie Nelson got the game-winner. Tea Canton and Monica Disanjh shared the shutout in goal for the Salsa.
Royal City faces South Delta United at Mackie Turf on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Westminster United went down to defeat 1-0 to the Vancouver Killarney All-Stars in a u-14 boys' B quarter-final at Mercer Oval on Saturday after a promising start a week earlier.
United opened the playdowns with an 8-1 win over West Vancouver United.
