Two more teams from Royal City advance to BCs

The Royal City Curling Club’s teams Joanisse and Dennis are bound for Cranbrook to compete in the B.C. Men’s championships, Jan. 28 to Feb. 2. They’ll be joining Team Wenzek, which advanced thanks to its finish on the B.C. Curling Tour circuit.

The Joanisse team, an amalgamated squad of Royal City and Golden Ears curlers, includes skip Dean Joanisse, third Andrew Bilesky, second Steve Kopf and lead Aaron Watson.
The Dennis squad, which counts Salmon Arm as its co-club, features skip Rob Dennis, third Doug Kilborn, second Brad Blackwell and lead Rick Miller.
Both teams emerged with berths from the Abbotsford playdown last week.
Joining skip Daniel Wenzek with the Royal City’s other participant are third Cameron de Jong, second Cody Tanaka and lead Nicholas Umbach.
