The New Westminster Twins 9/10 all-star team won the third annual Burnaby Summer Fun Baseball Tournament at Kensington Park.
The New West team was red hot in the championship final, rolling over the Ladner Red Sox 14-1 in a second straight game called by the mercy rule. Twins catcher Gavin Bhullar and outfielder Matteo Lesjak were named co-MVPs in the final game.
In the Sunday morning semifinal, New Westminster thumped the Newton Nationals 14-4, in four innings. Game MVP was slugger Justin Adamoski.
The Twins went undefeated in the Mosquito division in a pool of 10 Lower Mainland teams.
New West opened the tournament with a come-from behind 7-7 tie with pre-tournament favourite Burnaby. Game MVP for New West was Jalen Sami, with two hits.
