Javelin thrower Krista Woodward threw a personal best 59.64 metres at the Oceans Athletics meet in Surrey on Wednesday.
The throw made the Olympic B standard and was one metre further than her previous best.
Woodward needs an A throw of 61m and to come in the top three at the Canadian national track and field championships in Calgary next weekend to earn a spot on the national team to the London Olympic Games.

Canada's national junior men's field hockey team returned from Mexico with three decisive wins over the Mexican junior national team last weekend.
The Canadian junior team, including New Westminster's Matthew, Stephen and Brenden Bissett, scored a convincing 17 goals while allowing just one against in the three-game series in Guadalajara.
