Mihailo Stefanovic qualified for semifinals in the 110-metre hurdles at the World youth track and field championships in Russia. Stefanovic finished fourth in his pool in a personal-best and provincial record time of 13.98 seconds.
New Westminster girls won gold in three separate divisions, taking top spot in the peewee, midget and junior age groups at the provincial lacrosse championships.
The New West peewee A1 team was the Cinderella winner at the B.C. Lacrosse provincial championships.
