Burnaby's Dimitri Penchev was named the Canadian coach of the year by Tennis Canada in September.
Penchev, the high performance director at Global Tennis Academy in Coquitlam, received the award for achievements in training and development of top tennis athletes.
He was publicly recognized for the national award at the recent Tennis B.C. annual general meeting in October.
