SFU cross-country teams show promise

A trip to Stanford University in Northern California yielded some promising results for the young SFU crosscountry squads. The men fielded seven runners and finished 19th out of 28 teams. The Clan were led by freshman B.J.

A trip to Stanford University in Northern California yielded some promising results for the young SFU crosscountry squads.

The men fielded seven runners and finished 19th out of 28 teams. The Clan were led by freshman B.J. Cunliffe, who finished in 25: 38, good enough for 89th place out of 242 men participating. Junior Keir Forster finished 110th with a time of 26: 02.

The SFU women also had seven competitors, with senior Jessica Smith turning in a time of 21: 22 to finish 22nd out of 278 women competing. Lindsey Butterworth finished 53rd with a time of 22: 02.

The cross-country teams had an off week for the first week of October. They're running in Bellingham, Washington for the Western Washington University Tune-Up on Oct. 8.
