Former Simon Fraser University middle distance runner Jessica Smith earned a spot on the Canadian Olympic team to London.
Smith finished third in the women's 800 metres at the Olympic trials in Calgary last weekend, after setting an Olympic A standard in the event, with a time of 1: 59.86 earlier this month at the Harry Jerome Track Classic in Burnaby.
Smith placed behind race winner Lemlem Ber Ogbasilassie and runnerup Melissa Bishop, all three runners ran under 2: 08.00, at the trials.
Smith ended her collegiate track career with a win in the 800m at the conference championships.
