It was status quo atop the PacWest men's volleyball standings this week.
The No. 4 nationally-ranked Douglas College Royals remained tied with Vancouver Island University in first place following a weekend sweep over Camosun College.
The Royals took both matches by a similar 3-1 score, amassing more than 140 points of total offence in the back-to-back wins at the New Westminster campus.
Fifth-year senior Jeff Taylor led the way for the Royals, pound-ing a total of 41 kills in the two matches.
Taylor had a team-high 21 kills and three blocks in the opening game en route to a 20-25, 25-22, 25-11, 26-24 win on Friday.
Sam Shaw was also busy all over the court, earning 14 kills, one block, one service ace and six digs for the Royals.
Mark Vanderwal contributed seven kills and four blocks. Andrew Robson also made six of the team's 15 total blocks.
Libero Jordan Or made 14 digs in the back court.
On Saturday, Taylor also had a 20-kill, four-block outing for Douglas.
Robson and Vanderwal also contributed double-digit kills as the Royals rained 56 smash winners in the 22-25, 25-28, 25-20, 25-20 win over the Victoria-area college.
Robson made 13 kills and five blocks, while Vanderwal had 10 kills, one block and three aces.
Shaw had five kills and two blocks. Rex Fenton made three kills, two blocks and four digs, while Or helped out with more than half of the team's 35 total kills.
The wins improved the Royals' record to 17-5 in PacWest men's standings. VIU holds two games in hand over Douglas with a 17-3 record.
Columbia Bible College is close behind in third place at 13-7.
Douglas College has a bye this week before finishing out the regular season with a two-game set at home against fourth-place Capilano University on Feb. 17 and 18.
The Douglas women stole a single match against fifth-place Camosun, winning in four sets in their Saturday matchup in New Westminster.
The Royals were unlucky in the opening game Friday, coming back and taking Camosun to a fifth-game tie-breaker before falling 15-11.
