Douglas College running club's Emily Weeks placed third in the female 20-to-24 age class at the International Triathlon Union world championships in Henderson, Nevada Nov. 5.
Competing without the swim component because of unsafe water temperatures, Weeks finished the 120-kilometre bike and 30K run in an overall time of 7: 31.03.
Holly Claridge of Australia won the category with a 6: 30.17 clocking.
Rachel Joyce of Great Britain was the top female finisher with a 5: 34.15 time.
