Norvan Pacific rode a three-goal performance from co-player of the week Blake Burgon to upset Rovers United 4-1 in the team's home opener at Queen's Park Stadium last Saturday.

Rovers United, 3-2 winners over the Delta United Hurricanes last week, was missing its two goal scorers, Rizal Ganief and Bobby Jhutty, from the team's Vancouver Metro Soccer League premier division home opener.

Kyle Phillips accounted for the Rovers' only goal, when he beat a couple of Norvan defenders and scored from the edge of the 18-yard box in the second half.

Newly promoted Norvan Pacific was named team of the week for its win over the favoured New Westminster-based club.

Rovers United is currently locked in a five-team tie for fifth place, all with three points, in the premier league.

This weekend, the former Sapperton club will enjoy a bye in the schedule.

The following week, Rovers United will take on the currently unbeaten West Van FC at Ambleside Turf on Saturday, Oct. 1.
