Pro 'Bellies among NLL box leaders

New Westminster Salmonbellies forward Cliff Smith earned a second consecutive National Lacrosse League offensive player of the week award on Jan. 16.

Smith scored seven goals and garnered 15 points in his first two games of the season for the Washington Stealth. The veteran lefthander currently leads the pro league in total points.

WING-ING IT

Kevin Crowley of New Westminster helped spark the Philadelphia Wings' to a fourth-quarter 8-7 comeback over the Toronto Rock last weekend.

Crowley tallied three goals, including the game-tying goal with just 2: 14 left on the game clock, to spoil the Rocks' home debut. The win was the second straight for the unbeaten Wings in the NLL.

Crowley currently leads the league in power play goals with four.

Another summer Salmonbellie runner, Ilija Gajic, is currently second in forced turnovers with eight for the Colorado Mammoth.
