Mitch Jones scored three times and added four assists, while Kevin Crowley had a six-point night to lead the Salmonbellies' attack that was up 4-2 after the first period and had a 10-4 advantage going into the third.

It was a seeing-eye power play goal by Jones at 4:02 of the first period that got New West back on even terms after Coquitlam’s Vinny Ricci had put the Adanacs ahead early.

From there, the game was all Salmonbellies, which outshot the visitors 69-39.

Chase McIntyre had a goal and three assists to lead Coquitlam. It was the Adanacs' second loss in two starts this season.

The Adanacs will try for its first win on June 9 when the team travels to Victoria to play the Shamrocks. New West hosts the Maple Ridge Burrards on June 8.
