Mountain United FC, including the Burnaby and North Shore youth soccer districts, will be one of eight founding franchises for the new B.C. Soccer Premier League, which begins its first mini season this September.

Players from the Royal City area will fall under the Burnaby umbrella following a district move that brought the Royal City and Burnaby youth soccer associations together earlier this year.

The seven other regional clubs include: Coquitlam Metro-Ford; Fusion FC, including Vancouver and Richmond districts; upper and lowe Vancouver Island; Magnuson Ford Mariners FC in Abbotsford; South Fraser Soccer Club including the South Surrey and White Rock areas; Surrey United FC and Thompson Okanagan FC.

The new high-performance league, one step below the existing Whitecaps FC residency program, will kick off its inaugural exhibition series in the fall, followed by re-evaluations heading into the pre-season in mid-February.
