Simon Fraser University sophomore Casey Chin was named a second All-Great Northwest conference team all-star on Monday.
The second-year linebacker led the NCAA Division II football conference in tackles with 74, while averaging a conference-best 8.2 tackles per game this season.
Clan running back Bo Palmer was named to the first team Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-conference team. SFU lineman Justin Capicciotti was named co-defensive player of the year.
Palmer was one of two running backs named to the first team all-stars. Palmer was a key part of the SFU offence this season, recording 1,219 rushing yards, including a 180-yard performance in the team's first conference win over Dixie State in October. Joining Palmer on the offensive first team was lineman Matthias Goossen.
Capicciotti was named co-defensive player of the year along with Gavin Drake of Western Oregon University. The SFU senior defensive lineman was also a first all-conference all-star.
Capicciotti finished first in the GNAC in sacks this season with 10 and also ranked in the top 10 in tackles with 66, just eight behind conference leader and SFU teammate Chin.
Rounding out the Clan's all-conference players was linebacker Daniel Martin, who finished his senior season with 43 tackles.
Team awards will be awarded on Thursday.
