New Westminster's Kevin Crowley scored one goal and assisted on two others in his pro debut with the NLL Philadelphia Wings.
Crowley, the No. 1 overall pick by the Wings in the NLL entry draft, scored in the third quarter to give the Wings a 7-5 advantage over the Rochester Knighthawks in exhibition box lacrosse in Trenton, New Jersey on Sunday. Rochester rallied to win the pre-season exhibition game, 11-8.
FOUR BY THUNDER
The Lower Mainland Ringette League Thunder picked up four of a possible six points in a threegame weekend set against Calgary RATH in the National Ringette League last weekend.
The Thunder edged Calgary 6-5 in the opening game on Friday before losing the nightcap 7-6.
On Saturday, the B.C. squad doubled the RATH 10-5 to hold on to second place in the Western conference with a 9-3-0 record.
Prairie Fire leads the conference with 22 points, four more than the Thunder, which have two games in hand over the leader.
FIVE FINAL SWIMS
Ethan Liang and Chun Sing Leung finished second and third for the Hyack Swim Club respectively in the 100-metre breaststroke final at the Pacific Coast Christmas Cracker swim meet last weekend.
Hayden Pak had final swims in three individual events, placing sixth in the 100m freestyle and 200m backstroke. Pak also had a seventh-place finish in the 400m free.
