This past weekend the New Westminster Royals H3 C1 hockey team went undefeated at the Odlum Brown hockey tournament in Richmond.
The gritty little New West team rose to the challenge, playing against some tough opposition from other prominent Lower Mainland hockey teams from Cloverdale, South Delta and Seafair minor hockey associations.
"They were all hard fought games against good teams. I'm very proud of the kids and how they represented our community and New West Minor Hockey", said New Westminster coach Pete Birovchak. "The kids had big smiles on their faces as they collected their well-earned tournament medals, and as a coach, nothing makes me happier."
