All three New Westminster Royals teams were playing for bronze medals at the Herb House midget hockey tournament on Tuesday.
For the first time since the annual Christmas break, midget hockey tournament expanded three years ago to include house teams, New Westminster came away with medals in both divisions.
The A1 Royals lost a disappointing 4-3 shootout decision to Surrey A2 in the semifinals.
The New West club then went to overtime again before eking out the bronze with a 7-6 win over Abbotsford A2 in the consolation final on Tuesday.

Rick Hargrave led the Royals with a hat trick in a four-point outing. Ryland Davidson added a pair of goals, while Trevor Sidhu and Thomas Prigl both had three assists.
Langley A2 defeated a game Surrey side 4-1 in the A gold-medal final.
New Westminster was unbeaten in pool play, fashioning a 3-0-1 record. The team's only blemish was a 4-4 draw with Chilliwack. Davidson salvaged the single point with the game-tying tally midway through the final period.
Davidson opened the tournament with three goals and one helper in New West's 7-3 win over North Delta A2 on Dec. 17.
Matthew Siho led New West to a 4-1 win over Burnaby A2 later in the day. Siho had a goal and two assists. Alex Camara and Sidhu both registered a goal and an assist.
Sidhu put together another two-point outing in the Royals' 4-1 win over Ridge Meadows A2 on Dec. 20.
Both of the New Westminster C teams won a pair of games in pool play to advance to the championship round, where they eventually met for the bronze medal.
The C2 Royals defeated their C1 counterpart 7-2 for third place on Mitch Cressman's two-goal offering.
The C2s defeated Ridge Meadows C2 4-2 behind two-point games by Evan Borrowman and David Bonesky.
The team also earned a 6-2 result over Ridge Meadows C3. Dallas Petterson and Matthew Young both potted a goal and one helper. Bryce Davies added three assists.
Tymen Cho tallied two third-period goals in a 2-2 comeback tie with Cloverdale C4.
In the C semifinals, New West C2 fell to eventual champion Langley C4 5-3. Mitch Stokes had a pair of counters for the Royals.
The C1s defeated Cloverdale C4 8-0 on four-point games from Oleksiy Slupskyy and Paul Radnidge on Dec. 18. Austin Tonack had two goals and an assist.
A day later Brandon Wong capped his hat trick with the game-winner in a 9-8 barn-burner against Ridge Meadows C2. Vikash Prasad added a goal and three assists.
The C1s opened the House tourney with a 3-3 tie against Coquitlam C1. All three goals from Graham Gibson, Andrej Molitoris and Alex Canvin came in the final period.
The team lost its semifinal matchup 6-2 to Ridge Meadows C3. Adam Wong assisted on both New West markers.
Langley defeated Ridge Meadows 6-4 in the C division final.
