The New Westminster junior Hyacks used the clock to its fullest, needing a dramatic last minute touchdown to edge the Vancouver College Fighting Irish 40-33 last week.

On fourth down, Grade 10 quarterback Kinsale Philip found Matthew Lalime in the end zone with a 19-yard TD pass with just nine seconds remaining in the game.

New West had begun the second half in a 25-6 hole, but rallied with a dedicated attack.

Scoring three majors on the ground was Broxx Comia, with touchdowns of 76, 10 and 70 yards. Michael Zhang also scored on a four-yard scamper, while Philip dashed 57 yards for six points.

The win improved the Hyacks' record to 3-1 in league play and sets up a key rematch of B.C. 2015 finalists on Friday, 2 p.m. when Mount Douglas pays a visit to Mercer Stadium.
