New Westminster’s C2 atom hockey team shared the top tier Blue Group banner with Seafair following a 4-4 overtime draw.

Seafair tied the contest with two minutes left to play.

New West took eight minutes in penalties to Seafair four.

Joey Fox recorded the win in goal. Alternating goalie all season was Daniel Jacinto.

New West’s C2 team had the lowest goals against average of any team during the regular season.
On Saturday, the C1 team also played the Vancouver Thunderbirds C2.

The game went back and forth and was extremely tense. It was tied 5-5 late in the third when the Thunderbirds took a cross checking penalty.
With under two minutes to go in the third, Royals’ player Dominic Doray scored a fantastic goal to send the game into overtime.

With less than a dozen seconds left in a scoreless overtime, both teams were set to win the banner. But a faceoff in Royals zone with less than eight seconds left to play resulted in the Thunderbirds pulling their goalie in a last-ditch effort for a clean win.

Sadly, the Thunderbirds scored a goal and won the banner. The final score was 6-5.
On Saturday, New West’s C1 team played against Richmond C3. The final score was 3-2 for Richmond.
