With just one game left in the regular season, the New West junior Hyacks are looking like a juggernaut.

The Hyacks maintained a perfect record by downing W.J. Mouat 32-12 last week at Mercer Stadium.

Dominic Racher got the ball rolling with the first major of the day, followed by tight end Matt Drake, on a pass from Payton Meyers. Scoring a pair of touchdowns was Greyson Planinsic, while Taran Birdi counted another major.

Linemen Jayden Williams and Austin Ducommun were huge contributors in the victory, as New West improved to 3-0 and clinched the Central Conference regular season title.

It came on the heels of a hard-fought 14-9 decision over rival St. Thomas More a week earlier.

In that game, majors by Himat Garcha and Birdi gave the Hyacks a 14-0 lead, while the defence pulled off a key last minute goal-line stand to preserve the victory.

New West wraps up the regular season today (Thursday), 5:30 p.m. against Centennial at Mercer Stadium.
