Jr. 'Bellies beat Timbermen for a second time

The junior A Salmonbellies defeated the T-Men 12-7 Saturday in Nanaimo after opening the regular season at home with a 10-4 win over the Island club last weekend.

Drew House led the 'Bellies with a five-point outing, including one of five team members to score a pair of goals in the win.

Kyle Dobbie also tallied twice, while adding two assists. Connor Goodwin, Jakob Doucet and Steven Ferdinandi also notched a pair of counters. Alex Lohr and Nathan Stewart also scored for New West.

Ross Bowman collected his second win of the season between the pipes, stopping 32 Nanaimo shots.

Timbermen keeper Peter Dubenski was a standout for the home team, making 49 saves.

New West took on the Delta Islanders on Tuesday (after Record deadlines).

The juniors are in Victoria this Saturday to take on the 3-1 first-place Shamrocks.

New West is back at home Tuesday, May 15 to host the Langley Thunder at Queen's Park Arena.
