The season is ticking down on the junior B Grandview Steelers.

The Burnaby Winter Club-based Steelers chalked up their 17th win of the Pacific Junior Hockey League with a 6-2 win over the Ridge Meadows Flames at home on Sunday.

The victory left the Steelers still in last place in the Tom Shaw Conference, two points behind the North Vancouver Wolf Pack, and with four games remaining in the regular-season schedule in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot.

North Vancouver, with seven games still left to play, currently enjoys a three-game cushion on the Steelers.

Grandview lost an important 3-2 decision to the league-leading Richmond Sockeyes last Thursday.

On Sunday, Spencer Meyer was the team's first star, contributing a goal and a single helper in the win over Ridge Meadows.

Grandview hosts the Aldergrove Kodiaks at the winter club on Super Bowl Sunday.

The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. to accommodate the football game.
