Hyacks triumph over Burnaby

The peewee Royal City Hyacks won big, routing Burnaby 37-0.

The 10-and 11-year-olds got touchdowns from Kinsale Philip, Sammy Sidhu, Shaye Rathjen, Lucas Sabau, Nate Hardwick and Phoenix Bourrier.

Defensively, the Hyacks were dominant in not allowing a single Burnaby first down. The Hyacks also created numerous turnovers, with Isaac Hughes recovering a pair of fumbles deep in Burnaby territory and Christian Roadilla and David Osho pouncing on others. Sidhu had a strong all-around game, with a score on offense, a recovery of a kickoff on special teams and a fumble recovery on defence.

The junior bantam Hyacks also won, keeping their undefeated 4-0 record with a lopsided 50-0 shutout win over the Lions. The 12-and 13-year-olds got a great performance from Joshua Hardwick, who rambled for his first rushing touchdown of the season. Jamie Shiho also scored a on 30-yard punt return.

The atom orange Hyacks also registered a big win, a 38-0 thrashing of the Lions. The eight-and nine-yearolds got touchdowns from Andros Dancey and Lucas Burton, with strong running from backs Tyler McRae and Jordan Freeland. Graham Armstrong and Luke Perizzolo made key tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

In other Royal City Hyack football action, the atom black team fell 26-0 to North Surrey. The six-and seven-year-old flag Hyacks fell 16-7 to North Surrey.
