Hyack swimmers make trial finals

Liu qualified in eighth place but moved up one spot to finish in seventh place in the championship final with a time of 4: 16.39.

Brittany MacLean of Ontario won the event in a new national record time of 4: 06.08, smashing Brittany Reimer's old meet mark set back in 2005 by more than one second.

Savannah King of the Vancouver Dolphins also swam under the previous record, finishing second overall in a time of 4: 07.02.

Hyack swimmer and Cariboo Hill Secondary teen Stefan Milosevic finished fourth in the men's individual medley B final after qualifying 15th overall in a time of 4: 33.88.

Milosevic improved his time in the final, clocking a 4: 33.12 to finish with the 12th-best time in the competition.

Sean Nugent of Burnaby also placed fourth in the B final of the men's 100m breaststroke.
