Hot Wing signs on again

New Westminster's Kevin Crowley signed on for another year with the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. The Wings' first overall pick in the 2011 NLL draft was named to the league's all-rookie team last season.

The Wings' first overall pick in the 2011 NLL draft was named to the league's all-rookie team last season. He was also selected rookie of the week on three separate occasions - tops in the league.

Crowley scored a team-high 36 goals in his pro season debut, while also adding 35 assists for 71 points. Crowley also led all offensive players with 81 loose balls.

The Wings will open the 2013 season against the Buffalo Bandits on Jan. 11.

New Westminster defender Kyle Robinson was named the Canadian University Lacrosse Association's most outstanding defensive player.

The McGill University senior anchored a defensive backline that averaged 7.30 goals against, the fifth-best defensive record in the 13-team league.

McGill won its first collegiate title this season.
