You can help out the New Westminster Secondary School field lacrosse program and come away smelling like, well, … something other than a rose.
The Hyacks field team will be selling mushroom manure to May 20 at $5 a bag, with the proceeds from the sale going towards offsetting travel costs for the players to one of the largest recruiting tournaments in the western United States.
This year’s grades 9 and 10 field lax team is actively fundraising for the planned trip to Denver, Colorado in June of 2016.
More than 100 teams are scheduled to take part and with that just as many, or more, collegiate scouts.

“It will hopefully give our kids an opportunity to be looked at,” said NWSS PE department head and head coach Ken Bowman.
