Novice lacrosse

The Jack Crosby Memorial All-Star Novice Lacrosse Tournament takes place this weekend, beginning on Thursday.

Twenty teams from as far away as Oakville, Ont. will be taking part in the 26th annual edition of the end-of-season spectacle.

New Westminster will field teams in the Tier 1 and 2 divisions.

The association's novice A1 team recently returned from Calgary with a gold medal won at the 35th annual Canada Day lacrosse tourney, where the novice Salmonbellies defeated a team from Edmonton 7-1 in the championship final.

Finals of the Crosby memorial will take place on Sunday at the Copeland twin arenas.
