Kimberly Newell of Burnaby is the youngest player invited to the under22 national women's hockey program goaltending camp in Calgary this weekend.

Newell, just 17, is coming off a freshman season as a starter at Princeton University and a gold medal at the world u-18 championships.

"This will be a wonderful opportunity for them to work with some of the best goaltending instructors in the business, and learn what it takes to be a part of Canada's national women's program," said Hockey Canada director Kalli Quinn in a press release.
