Canada's men's goalball team was eliminated from further play by the reigning champions from China at the Paralympic Games on Monday.
The men's national team, including Doug Ripley of New Westminster, lost its final preliminary match 3-1 against China.
China scored two quick goals early in the game, but Canada rallied with a hard shot from Brendan Gaulin that sailed by China's defense to close the first half.
In the end, Canada was unable to come back from a 3-1 deficit and a goalless second half clinched the game for the defending Paralympic champions.
After five competitive games, the Canadian men's goalball team will not move on to play in the quarter finals, thus ending their London 2012 Paralympic competition.
