Glenbrook Middle School won the BurWest district bantam girls’ basketball playoff championship banner on Tuesday.
The Glenbrook girls completetly dominated Burnaby Central in the final 40-6.
Earlier, Glenbrook chalked up wins against Queensborough 38-21 and Alpha 45-18 en route to the championship game. Sarah Forgie and Mia Obrovac were both selected to the all-star team.
Sayla Briggs from Alpha, Emma Reagen from Central and Burnaby North’s Kimia Tanakali were also named to the all-district team.
With the wins, Glenbrook improved its record against Grade 8 teams to 23-1.
The New West school will now look ahead to the Vancouver and District championships at Argyle Secondary from Feb. 19 to 20.
Glenbrook’s opening game will take place against Windsor, the North Shore No. 3 team, at 6 p.m. on Feb. 18.
