The Bob Gair Classic high school basketball tournaments wrap up today (Friday) at New Westminster Secondary School.
The final placement games for the varsity boys' championship begin at 9 a.m. in the Pearson Gym and run until 2: 15 p.m., when the tournament final tips off.
The New Westminster Hyack boys are coming off a 96-79 upset over No. 5-ranked Tamanawis last week.
Hyacks forward Sylvester Appiah led the team with 32 points, including 13-of-16 two-pointers from the floor and 11 assists.
Guard Manvir Gandham chipped in with 27 points, including five three-pointers on five-of-eight shooting from beyond the arc.
In the Massey gym, the senior Hyack girls take on Pitt Meadows on Friday at 3: 15 p.m., while the juvenile girls face Riverside at 11: 30 a.m.
