No doubt, one-time New Westminster Bruin Craig Berube can account for all the miles in between.
A one-time linemate of Burnaby's Cliff Ronning, Berube is now the reigning Stanley Cup champion coach for the St. Louis Blues, which clinched the franchise's first NHL trophy Wednesday in a 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins.
The Blues entered the NHL playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the league, after shaking off a horrible start that saw them fall to last place in the league as late as Jan. 3.
Berube replaced Mike Yeo as St. Louis' head coach on Nov. 19.
The 53-year-old native of Cahoo, Alta., previously spent two seasons behind the bench as head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers.
During his two-year stint in New West, where Berube rose to become the team's fourth top scorer, he accumulated 295 penalty minutes and 100 points over 140 games.
Among his linemates were Ronning and New West native Brent Hughes, both whom went on to play, like Berube, in the NHL.
