The Douglas College Royals were good to their fourth-place finish in the PacWest regular season.
The Royals' men's basketball team finished up on the wrong end of a 103-86 score to Quest University in the bronze-medal game at Camosun College on Saturday.
"Overall, our goal was to make nationals. B.C. had two berths, but we had to beat Capilano and Langara. It was a tough road," said Douglas head coach Denis Beausoleil. "We didn't have the legs at the end of the day."
Devan Haynes led the Royals with 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, while PacWest second team all-star, Harpreet Randhawa, posted the second of his two double-doubles at the provincials, scoring 12 points, grabbing 16 rebounds while also dishing out a team-high seven assists.
PacWest all-rookie team selection Denzel Laguerta scored nine points for Quest.
Douglas was relegated to the consolation final following a 103-71 semifinal loss to regular season champs and eventual provincial winner Langara.
Randhawa had a game-high 19 points and 12 boards, while Andrew Baron chipped in with 15 points.
The Royals opened in the quarter-finals with an 83-65 win over fifth-seeded Capilano University.
Dustin Egelstad and Matt Dabrowski scored a team-high 18 and 16 points, respectively. Haynes, Randhawa and Baron also scored in double figures for the Royals.
Third-year Royals Haynes, Randhawa and Dabrowski are still looking for their first postseason medal at the collegiate provincials.
"Last year, we did not win a playoff game. It is an improvement, but not where we want to be," added Beausoleil.
Langara beat Vancouver Island University 78-74 in the gold-medal final.
