Douglas College improved its women's collegiate softball record to 6-4 following a split in weekend Northwest conference play last weekend.
Douglas clubbed Big Bend Community College 14-3 on Sunday following a five-inning, 13-hit win in Yakima, Washington.
Alex Young scored two runs and batted in four more to lead the Royals. Kim Maedel chipped in with two runs, two hits and three RBIs.
Team batting leader Mercedes Spengler of Burnaby, with a .438 batting average, also had two runs and two hits for the Royals, while earning the her fourth win of the season with three innings of scoreless pitching.
On Saturday, Douglas defeated Lower Columbia 15-8 with a big, eight-run third inning splurge.
Lauren Shannik knocked in four runs on three hits, while Maedel also had three hits, batting in three more and scoring three times.
Sydney Jeffers and Nicole Sereda had four and three hits, respectively.
Spengler picked up the win, taking over in the first inning for freshman Danielle Anderson and going seven innings with seven strikeouts.
Douglas also dropped a pair of games at the weekend event in Yakima, falling 6-1 to Mt. Hood on Saturday and 4-0 to Southwest Oregon on Sunday.
