Derby girls roll through Royal City

The ninth season of women's roller derby kicked off with a pre-season doubleheader on Saturday at the Royal City Curling Club. The Riot Girls took on the Tournament City Deadlies from Kamloops, winning 142 to 126.

The Riot Girls took on the Tournament City Deadlies from Kamloops, winning 142 to 126. Then it was the Faster Pussycats facing off against the NWO Rollergirls from Chilliwack. The Pussycats lost 206 to 71.

All games are at the Royal City Curling Club, located at 75 East Sixth Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first whistle is at 6 p.m. The second game starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10, kids six to 12 $5; all events are family friendly, and children under-five get in for free.
