Simon Fraser University was brought back to earth by conference-leading Central Washington in NCAA Division II football.
After two consecutive wins and Bo Palmer's near Great Northwest conference record outing against Azusa Pacific last week, the Clan was soundly beaten 51-10 by the first-place Wildcats on Saturday.
Palmer failed to reach the century mark in rushing, finishing with 99 yards on 11 carries, while SFU quarterback and conference passing leader Trey Wheeler was held to just 14 completions on 37 attempts and 146 total yards with one interception.
On the up side, Eric Murphy and New Westminster's Casey Chin bolstered the SFU defence with 11 and 10 tackles, respectively.
But one Central Washington player that proved hard to stop was Demetrius Sumler, who scored five touchdowns and rushed for 226 yards.
The Clan's only score came in the third quarter from Torre Corrado, who gathered in a 45-yard Wheeler pass.
SFU is home to 42 Western Oregon on Saturday at 2 p.m.
