The Bissett family of New Westminster scored eight goals between them in Canada's five wins at a three nation junior men's field hockey tournament at Eric Hamber Field from July 15 to 23.

Twins Matthew and Stephen Bissett scored two goals apiece in Canada's opening 9-2 victory over the United States. Younger brother Brenden also tallied a single marker in the one-sided opening-day win for the junior nationals.

Matthew, 21, who scored four times in Canada's six-game schedule, also tallied single goals in Canada's 4-1 win over Chile on July 17 and in a 3-1 victory over the South American nation on the final day of the competition. Stephen scored the game-winning tally in the 3-1 win over Chile, capping a three-goal comeback win in the match.

Canada finished on top of the three-team tourney with a 5-1-0 record. The junior national team's only loss in the competition was a 3-0 defeat to the Americans on July 18. An 18-man roster will be named on Friday (after Record deadlines) in readiness for the junior Pan American championships to be played in Mexico Sept. 10 to 23.
