Burnaby's Alisha Roberts and Ariana Sider of New Westminster showcased their talents a final time at the annual B.C. high school basketball all-star game at the University of British Columbia Saturday.
Sider led her team, coached by New Westminster Hyacks head Doug Woodward, while Roberts helped the Rob Sollero-coached unit to an 81-62 victory at UBC's War Memorial gym.
"We had a bad start, but it basically comes down to family and friends watching you and they want to see you play," said Woodward, who rotated his 12-person squad every three minutes.
Sider, who has committed to Simon Fraser University next season, led the Woodward team in scoring with nine points, while Roberts matched her opposite guard with a similar point total. Roberts is off to Pepperdine, California in September.
In the boys' game, St. Thomas More's Denzel Laguerta potted six points for Team Hanson in a 95-85 win over Team Jakobs.
