Burnaby and New West girls help B.C. to silver medal in bantam lax final

Team B.C. was edged 4-3 by Ontario in the gold-medal final of the Canadian bantam girls' national lacrosse championships at Queen's Park Arena Thursday.

Burnaby's Amie Morrison gave the home province a 2-1 lead after the opening 20 minutes with her second goal of the championships.

But Ontario struck back with a natural hat trick from Peterborough's Alexis Kinmond.

Kaitlin Tse scored the game-winning tally midway through the final frame.

Burnaby's Jolene Robinson got one goal back minutes later, potting her team-leading fifth goal from Morrison and Megan Kinna.

Bianca Ballarin of New Westminster faced 22 shots in the B.C. team goal.
