Canada under-21 defeated British Columbia in a shootout to win the Canadian senior women's field hockey nationals in Brampton, Ont.
The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw after regulation time. Overtime failed to settle the score, so the two teams went to a shootout. The national development side prevailed 3-2 on penalty shots.
Ontario won the bronze medal with a resounding 7-2 win over Ontario u-23. Brienne Stairs of Ontario was the top scorer with nine goals. B.C.'s Poonam Sandhu garnered eight goals, and Stephanie Gardiner had six for the runners-up.
