Royal City Soccer Club's NW Barcelona finished the first half of the under-15 girls' Metro Soccer League in first place.
Barcelona went 3-0 in its final three matches, combining for 13 goals while allowing just one against in the month of December.
Royal City blanked the West Van Rangers 3-0 on Dec. 11 to claim a share of first place with Port Coquitlam United in Division 1.
A week earlier, Barcelona drubbed Port Coquitlam 6-1. The New West club also blanked last-place Golden Ears 4-0 to improve its record to 8-5-1.
Injuries have been a big story for Barca this season.
Playing with as few as eight players on a couple of occasions, Royal City picked up Alessia Mastromonaco of Burnaby and New Westminster's Raquel Tjernagel from the new B.C. premier league.
Kristan Rodrigues and Naomi Noda have filled in admirably in goal in the first half of the season while the team's starting keeper recovers from injury.
Barcelona currently leads its division with 25 goals scored, while allowing just 17.
The team is back in action on Jan. 8.
