The Douglas College badminton team continued its winning ways, sweeping the second straight tournament at Capilano University last weekend.
Team captain Charmagne Yeung and rookie Logan Campbell led the way for the Royals, finishing the weekend with identical 9-0 records.
Yeung and Campbell helped Douglas wrap up the team competition, winning all five of their respective matches.
Amy Leung and Lisa Chen also were unbeaten in the team event, winning four matches apiece.
The Royals pair of Yeung and Campbell also won two individual titles on the second day of competition, including teaming for first place in the mixed doubles event.
The win in the mixed event was the second tournament win in a row for Yeung and Campbell.
Yeung also took first place in the women's singles final, upsetting the No. 1 seed Veronica Yeung from Capilano in an intense match.
Logan and doubles partner Luo Wei picked up top spot in the men's final for a second straight time.
After the first two of four scheduled tournaments this season, Douglas is leading the five other schools by almost 200 points.
The Royals currently hold the lead with 723 accumulated points.
Next is Capilano in second with 528 points, followed closely by Langara, with 487 points, in third.
Thompson Rivers University, Kwantlen and Vancouver Island universities trail the field.
"Logan and Char (Charmagne) were absolutely fantastic for us all weekend," said Douglas head coach Al Mawani in a prepared email. "The team performance was brilliant with all the challenges we have had to face this season."
Douglas College will host the third tournament on Jan. 28 and 29.
The badminton series wraps up in Kamloops in February.
