New Westminster goalie Matt Hewitt was named a second star for the Regina Pats following a 4-1 upset victory at home over the Prince Albert Raiders in Western Hockey League major junior action on Nov. 3.
Hewitt made 36 saves, including 14 in both the first and second periods, as the East division-leading Raiders of the Easterm conference outshot the Pats 37-27. The win by Regina ended a three-game winning streak by the first-place Raiders.
Regina scored two goals in the opening minute of the third period to ensure the Pat's seventh win this season.
The third-year, 19-year-old backstop-per currently sports a 2.89 goals against average despite a solid 0.916 save percentage for the 7-11-1-0 Pats.
