The Lower Mainland has another way of honouring its military heroes.
This week, the Heroes Hockey Challenge will be in Vancouver for a celebrity game and gala dinner.
On Friday, a Canadian Forces hockey team will take on the NHL alumni at Rogers Arena in a fundraising event. A gala dinner will be held at the Fairmont Hotel on Wednesday.
The foundation provides support to families that have lost a loved one. It also gives direct assistance to veterans in need and agencies that provide support individuals and their families.
The foundation also aids ongoing research and support programs to combat the effects of post traumatic stress other problems on Canadian veterans and their families and in the community.
