Whether you're in need of a laugh, a little entertainment or a bit of retail therapy, we've got some ideas for you for this weekend's pleasure. We're continuing with our popular feature, The Record's Top Five (or More) Things to Do This Weekend and offer the following suggestions for the May 31 to June 2 weekend.

1 Forget about your troubles and yuk it up at Lafflines, where comedian Brad Upton performs on Friday, May 31 (today) and Saturday, June 1.

Upton is a winner of the Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Showtime is 8: 30 p.m. on May 31 and 9 p.m. on June 1 (with doors opening an hour before the show.)

Lafflines is located in The Columbia Theatre at 530 Columbia St. To buy tickets online, or get more information, go to www. lafflines.com.

2 Satisfy your curiosity at The Curious Flea Market, which is being held at the River Market on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This free event will feature more than 20 vendors aiming to present a flea market that's social and fun.

The Curious Flea is focused on treasures from the past. While some vendors will be bringing upcycled goods, it's not meant to be a craft fair.

Intrigued? You can find River Market at 910 Quayside Dr. and see what it's all about.

3 Sample wines from Canada's urban garage winery - right here in the Royal City. Pacific Breeze Urban Winery is holding a wine tasting and barbecue on Sunday, June 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine) at 6-320 Stewardson Way.

Partial proceeds from the event will go to the 2013 British Columbia Ride to Conquer Cancer.

4 Check out the Vagabond Players' final show of the 2012/2013 season. Wait Until Dark, Frederick Knott's exciting thriller, runs until June 15 at the Bernie Legge Theatre in Queen's Park.

Tickets are $15, or $13 for seniors and students. The show runs Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sundays at 2 p.m.

For information or tickets, call 604-521-0412 or visit www.vagabondplayers.ca.

5 Enjoy the culinary talents of acclaimed chef Angus An, who has opened Longtail Kitchen at River Market. An, who owns the award-winning Maename Thai restaurant in Vancouver and is a consulting chef at Kittichai in New York, aims to offer Thai "street food" such as noodle dishes, fish stews and curries at his newest offering. Longtail Kitchen is located in River Market, 910 Quayside Dr.
