Your New Westminster Record print edition will look a little different today as we launch a new format. Here's the scoop.

Your New West community newspaper has a new look — but our mission hasn't changed.

For decades, we at the New Westminster Record have been on the ground in our city telling the stories of our neighbours: covering city hall and school board meetings, community events, business issues and an array of arts, entertainment and human interest happenings of all sorts.

That’s not about to change — but, as of today (Thursday, April 6), those of you who read in newspaper-and-ink format will find our print edition looks a little different. The new design by our production team gives the paper a fresh new look for spring 2023, while the new square format will save on printing costs and reduce the paper’s environmental impact.

The Record will continue to publish the best of local journalism and photography, while also providing an easy-to-read format for those who prefer to get their news in print.

Our weekly print edition is just one of our media offerings in the 24-7 news cycle. Our website covers an abundance of local news stories that simply can't fit in  print — plus, we're serving up regional, provincial and national news for those who want it, along with BusinessWire, real estate, opinion writing and much more.

If your focus is on hyper-local news? Then be sure to go straight to the New West Local News tab to find the latest in New Westminster-specific stories.

For more New West first content, you can also subscribe to our newsletter, which brings you daily headlines, plus a Sunday morning walk back through the week's news. If you just want the curated longer read on Sundays, you can sign up for only the weekend edition — or sign up for both and keep tabs on the local news scene every day.

Plus, of course, you can join us on social media.

All of that will keep coming to you free — though we're always grateful for those who choose to support us financially. If you'd like to become a supporter, you can do so right here.

And while we're at it, one more thing: Thank you. We're grateful to you for reading, for commenting, for sharing, for supporting the work that we do in countless ways so that we can keep on serving our city and telling its stories.
