The Seeing Red Award (alternatively known as the Green With Envy Award) goes to politicos and community members who bickered over the colour orange during the municipal election campaign.

The New West Progressives electors group riled up folks who have long considered themselves “progressives” with the group’s name – and took it a step further when they chose the colour orange for its advertising.

Critics, including labour-endorsed candidates and their supporters, complained that the Progressives had intentionally used a colour affiliated with the NDP to confuse voters, while the Progressives stated the colour was bold and long associated with the New Westminster Hyacks. We don’t quite buy that explanation, but it’s just a colour – time to move on to the issues.
